The goal of the International Astronomy & Space Centre (IASC) was to create an experience that would present the science of astronomy in an educational and entertaining way for visitors of all ages.
Sarner’s design and implementation of this out-of-this-world visitor experience incorporated special visual effects, interactive tools, virtual reality 3D experiences and theatrical presentations to keep visitors engaged. In response to the announcement of the project, Vice Chancellor of the IASC, Professor Michael Brown said: “This is great news for Merseyside. The International Space and Astronomy Centre will form another economic pillar for the region, creating jobs, boosting tourism and aiding the regeneration process”.
Working closely with JMU University and Merseytravel, Sarner was responsible for the initial master plan and design of the centre.
