‘Over the Hill’ at Southend’s Adventure Island is a ghost train for a new generation. This exciting dark ride represents a £1 million revamp of the former Beelzee Bob’s Trail and is hosted by a creepy new character called The Undertaker, who waves guests goodbye as they set off on a fear-filled trip to an abandoned cemetery. Forget all of your preconceptions and prepare to be frightened, with this high-tech twist on the classic family ghost train ride.

Our solution
Using audio visuals and special effects, Sarner created a new ghost train experience for the 21st century. The ride features CGI video projections, lighting special-effects, model animations and a state-of-the-art audio system. The attraction’s highlight is a twist on the old ‘Pepper’s Ghost’ illusion. Sarner's skilled engineers used coated foil to create a half mirror effect and this, combined with projection and 3D set effects, creates lifelike floating holographic images.
